Camp ReCreation has been serving people with developmental disabilities since 1983.
Each year, Camp ReCreation provides a residential summer camp program and engaging year-round activities for its participants to inspire fun, friendship, social interaction and spiritual growth – all while creating valuable respite for parents and caregivers. Camp ReCreation also strives to increase the awareness and acceptance of persons with developmental disabilities in the greater community.
Camp ReCreation is under the patronage of the Diocese of Sacramento and supported by the Knights of Columbus and many other generous individuals and organizations.
"changed my life by giving me the opportunity to learn from individuals who, without fail, live life with openness and authenticity. It taught me that being myself, being true to who I am, is the most rewarding thing I can do. It’s also a yearly reminder that everyday should consist of lots of hugs, lots of songs, and lots of dance parties."
— Matt Palmer, 12 year Camp Volunteer
